Shit's wack AND confusing!

Okay, so most of you know that I'm a immigrant, who immigrated from the municipality of Stavanger, and the county Rogaland. I moved pretty much only because of family related issues with my stepmother, whom I can't live with. Anyway, that's whole different thing... So, my former municipality (~fylke) was amongst the five most populated areas of the norwegian country, and I was pretty happy there. Then, I moved to Larvik, a small town located roughly 300 miles (500km) from my former home.

The main difference in this new place, is the fact that these folks have snow. You know, that white stuff that you see on christmas cards? Yeah, they got it...

They got it...

So, here's the thing; I'm not used to snow, at least where I live... That's because the climate in my former city is pretty fucked up, due to being a larger city and such... So, having as much snow as there is here, which is roughly 60" (1,5 meters), is rather idiotic and scary as batshit. I woke up this morning and this was what I saw:

Snowy, nazi, zombie? Anyone?!

Okay, maybe not that... Though it would be plausible (2012?).... I'm a bit shifty... Anyway, I saw snow, and a lot of it... Like.. It was every-fucking-where! Like, God almighty had gone total batshit all over this town and gave us 2" of that shit! I mean it, it all came over night! He blew his freakin' load all over this place! Okay, no offence to God, I am, although, christian after all. But you got to have some self-humor, right?! Anyway, so he blew his... Yeah, you get the point, don't you?

Aw, man! Come on!! That's uncalled for, christianity....

Oh yeah, that reminded me of one thing... I will be discussing the matter of religion here too, sometime, so if that's not your cup of tea then get the duck out, I say. Or, just don't read it! Yeah, that's a good idea, but you can also see if you can find some coffee for that sake... Anyway, I'm getting off track, as usual...

So, there's hell of a lot of snow outside, I'm freaked and I'm hopping on a plane in a few hours, hopefully it's taking off in time. I hate Widerøe and all it's relations with the aviation community, to say the least. But, hopefully everything will turn out right.

The song I'm going to leave you with for now is a Dire Straits song, called My Parties. It's quite awesome, and is easy going. I like it, and I had to download a mp3, make it into a video (hence the photograph) and then upload it here. Enjoy:

"Let's hear it for the dolphins, let's hear it for the trees, I'm ain't running out of nothing in my deep freeze!"

Stuff is confusing...

I thought I could post a photograph I took a while ago. I've worked quite a bit on this, and I'm still perfecting it. So, it's still not finished.
Even though it's late at night, and I should probably get some rest, I'll bother you, yet again, with some scary photographic linguistics! Okay, so I used a Cokin ND4 filter (which is a grey filter, used to get slower exposures) and a sircular polarizer, just to force the exposure further down. It's a 25 seconds long exposure, and stopped down with 1.7 stops. I stopped it down because I figured it would save me some time during post production... None the less, it helped me, because it further darkened the water, which would have been a tad overexposed if I hadn't had stopped it down. I actually used ISO 100, even though this won't contribute at anything, but I just did in case it would lower my exposuretime even further. On a side notice, there were some pretty huge waves hitting the mainland where I was standing, and I got pretty soaked... The same with my camera! I tried my best to cover it, and it seems as though it made it through nicely. I also used gaffer-tape around the lens (I used a 35mm ƒ/1.8), to weatherseal it some more.

I'll leave you now, because I need some rest. So here's a absolute favorite song of mine, done by Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo'ole, it's a medley of Somewhere Over the Rainbow and What a Wonderful World. For some reason, this song have played a pretty large role in my life, and it's way too beautiful to pass, just listen:

The beginning of the confucianism...

So, I finally got my mind active enough to actually do this. Hopefully this could be something that I might update, even though my mind is rather messy. So, bear with me on this. Anyway, as a tester, I'm just going to post some random photograph that I've randomly shot... Nothing fancy, just some randomness to keep you entertained.

This shot was relatively easy, and for those who actually bother understanding photographic linguistics, I had a flash, shot in normal TTL-mode, at a 45 degree angle, giving me a exposure of 1/3000, together with an old manual monster (500mm, ƒ/4) at ƒ/8, everything set manual as usual...

I should probably get to bed... That might be a good idea! However, I'm leaving you with this fantastic masterpiece by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, one of Russias greatest composers of all time; it's the classical masterpiece, Francesca de Rimini:

Now, the question of the day:
How did I ever become such a nocturnal person?!
